Off to check the collection buckets

In close to 20 years of making maple syrup, this is the first year Keith has snowshoes to make traversing the snowy woods easier in the aftermath of a March snow storm. Plus they are fun to use —and a good workout. Last year Keith injured his achilles tendon while trudging through deep snow in the woods collecting maple sap. It took months of dedicated work to rehab the tendon. This year he’s working smarter. I benefitted too, when Keith gifted me with my own pair of snowshoes and poles.

Knocking snow off the lids.
I love the blue color of the buckets. Makes them easy to see.
Woods table and stump stools.
Let’s go to the top of the hill.
Along the tree line.

  1. oh my, you did get some snow yesterday! How come the lids don’t fit tight on the collection buckets? Won’t snow blow into the sap?
