“Mom, you say that everywhere we go on vacation.”

It’s true. I have wanted to live on Sanibel Island, in the historic district of Charleston, South Carolina, western Canada and a few other places. I fell hard for Qualicum Beach, Vancouver Island last summer. Talk about a beautiful, friendly community. I could live there easily; they have the most gorgeous, wide beach to ramble along.

We are just back from a week in The Banff National Park and again I stated a desire to live there.

I mean who doesn’t want to live there? Have you seen the mountains? Talk about God’s Glory, my heavens! I don’t know how the locals get up and function every day. I spent the week with my eyes looking up, except when I was hiking and watching every step. I have a habit of tripping and falling down.

Fortunately for me, my husband loves me and indulges my imagination. When I say: I could live here! He says: Let’s pick up a few local real estate papers and take a look at some properties. Once he contacted an agent in the Finger Lakes and we attended an open house for a pretty little lakeside home. The annual taxes were crazy and we decided that anytime we wanted to visit for an extended stay, a hotel would be lovely, or even a rental home on the lake.

We love to travel, there are so many places to see. I always fall in love with the destination and can’t help imagining what it would be like to live there full-time. One day we may move, but for now we always come home.
