A Sunday morning hike.
Keith injured his leg in March 2021 during maple syrup season. Hauling 5-gallon buckets of sap through 18+ inches of accumulated snow damaged his Achilles tendon. Know what’s tough? Healing your Achilles tendon. At first he tried to keep running, hiking, walking —and most likely injured it further. After completely resting it over the summer, he tried to get back to running. Ouch! The tendon was having none of it. A visit to his doctor resulted in visits to sports medicine and then physical therapy. Know what’s amazing? Physical Therapy! All the cool kids have been doing it this fall. (Including me, but that’s a different story.) His PT hooked him up with a medical device that delivers a low electric current to the injured tendon and the results have been spectacular! This morning we went for a 3-mile hike, complete with elevation! It was a thrill to be back in the woods.
