This one has supported a lot of bottoms sitting on it over the decades. (I’d like to assk it about the humans it’s supported, butt I think that might be a little cheeky.) This bench has been around since before I was born. Made by my dad’s dad in the 50s, it’s sturdy, built to last. It used to be a shade of deep orange. I’ve painted it several times in the last 10 years, and again today it received a fresh coat, to match my house. It sits on the back deck and these days it’s mostly a place for the cats to sleep on or under. Sometimes the UPS guy leaves a package on it. At one time it had a mate and a matching picnic table. I know where the table is hiding in our woods, amid the maple sap lines, but I’m not sure what happened to the other bench.
(bench – a long seat for several people to sit on; made of wood or stone.)
